“As the Director of the District of Columbia Government (DoCG) Center for Workforce Development, I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Claudine Beckford for nine years while she worked her way from Human Resources Analyst, creating training and development course materials to facilitating and co-facilitating employees and senior leadership courses, to managing various course thought by George Mason University, to the Acting Associate Director for the DoCG Center for Workforce Development after my retirement. Dr. Claudine was not just a part of the team; she was the driving force behind the establishment of DoCG's first Workforce Planning unit during her tenure. Her exceptional problem-solving skills, motivation to learn from anyone, leadership skills, and teamwork were not just evident; they were the cornerstone of this initiative. The HR director recognized her unique qualities and appointed her Chief of Workforce Planning after a detailed assessment. This led to another detailed assessment with the Deputy Mayor’s office to develop an Office Administrative Procedure Guide for the mayor’s offices. Dr. Claudine was nominated by employees and her peers for the Above and Beyond Award of Excellence, which the deputy mayor presented to her at a luncheon. I strongly endorse Dr. Claudine without reservation and believe she will exceed all expectations.”
